  • * Horizontal Reservation: In addition the above mentioned vertical reservation, on All India seats a horizontal reservation of 30% shall be made in favour of Female candidates, 5% of seats for Specially Abled Persons/Persons with Disability (PWD) category and 25% of seats shall be made in favour of candidates of Gujarat Domicile, cutting across all the above categories.

Admission under Other Categories:

  • Admission under NRI/FN/JK/NE Categories: Apart from the CLAT form, interested candidates under this category are required to fill separate expression of interest form. The separate notification shall be announced in the GNLU website and direct admission will be undertaken on basis of applications received by using the CLAT ranking. For detailed selection process, candidates are required to refer the notification. NRI category seats are available to NRI candidates or Indian nationals sponsored by NRI as per the Supreme Court Guidelines. Foreign National category seats are available to Foreign Nationals only i.e. candidates with foreign citizenship. Candidates seeking admission under the Foreign National category are not required to appear in the CLAT and shall apply directly to the University. Interested candidates are required to refer the GNLU Website for further more details. No transfer of candidates once admitted under NRI and Foreign National category to any another category. Unfilled seats of any category, if any, shall be filled, as per the decision of GNLU Executive Council.
  • Admission under Sports Quota: The University has 4 Supernumerary Seats (2 for Boys & 2 for Girls) under the Sports Quota. The Candidates who are interested in seeking admission under the Sports Quota can apply directly to the University and shall require to fill separate expression of interest form. The notification shall be announced in the GNLU website and the Candidates are required to refer the notification for detailed selection process. Candidates having International and National Medals will be given preference.

Desai, the medal is to be awarded to the student of undergraduate degree on the basis of the maximum marks obtained in the subject of Law of Torts and other achievements considered for the award of the medal such as publication and presentation of research papers in a Seminar/Conference, participation in moot court competitions, and ethics and value based participation in other activities.

  • Corporation Bank Gold Medal - for Commercial Law

    Instituted by Corporation Bank, Udyog Bhawan Branch, Gandhinagar, this medal is to be awarded to the student of an undergraduate degree on the basis of the highest marks obtained in the subject of Commercial Law i.e. Contract –I, Contract-II, Corporate Law-I, Corporate Law-II & Law of Banking & Negotiable Instruments taken together.

  • Aditya Books Pvt. Ltd. Gold Medal - for Best Student in any discipline on annual basis :

    Instituted by M/s. Aditya Books Private Limited, the medal is to be awarded to a student of undergraduate degree on the basis of the CGPA, Moot Court Competitions, publications, conference/seminars & sports/cultural activities.

  • Late Mr. M. K. Nambyar Gold Medal - for Constitutional Law :

    Instituted by Mr. K. K. Venugopal, the medal is to be awarded to a student of undergraduate degree on the basis of the highest marks obtained in the subject of Constitutional Law i.e. Constitutional Law-I, Constitutional Law-II & Constitutional Law-III taken together.

  • Late Mr. A. P. Ganguli Gold Medal- Best Student for overall performance in the 5 year course :

    Instituted by Mr. Amal Kumar Ganguli, the medal is to be awarded to a student of undergraduate degree on the basis of the overall performance in all the ten semesters according to the rank secured.

  • Late Hon'ble Mr. Justice V.B. Raju Gold Medal- for Criminal Law :

    Instituted by Mr. S. V. Raju, the medal is to be awarded to the student of undergraduate degree on the basis of the outstanding achievement in Criminal Law i.e. scoring the maximum marks in Criminal Law-I & II.

  • Late Mr. Jayantilal H. Parekh Gold Medal- for Media Law :

    Instituted by Mr. Pravin H. Parekh, the medal is to be awarded to the student of undergraduate degree on the basis of the maximum marks obtained in the paper-Media Law and other achievements considered such as publications and paper presentations, participation in moot court competitions, sports & extra-curricular activities, discipline and ethics.

  • Late Hon'ble Mr. Justice S. B. Majumdar Gold Medal- for Civil Procedure Code :

    Instituted by Mr. Sanjay Majmudar, the medal is to be awarded to the student of undergraduate degree on the basis of the maximum marks secured in Civil Procedure Code I & II (both) and other achievements taken into consideration such as publication & paper presentations, moot court competitions, ethics & value-based participation in other activities.

  • Late Dr. Smt. Mrunalini Devi Puar Gold Medal-for Food Security & Agro-Economy :

    Instituted by Dr. (smt) Mrunalini Devi Puar, the medal is to be awarded to the student of undergraduate degree on the basis of an outstanding achievement in the field of Food Security & Agro-Economy i.e. considering the highest score obtained in the subjects such as Land Laws and Agricultural Laws, Environmental Law, Intellectual Property Law, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law & Administrative Law taken together along with other achievements such as publications & paper presentations, moot court competitions.
